Trainetics Faculty Member Publishes Innovative Book On Operative Procedures Addressing Human Factors

Trainetics Team Publishes On Operative Procedures In Obstetrics And Gynaecology, Including Chapter On Non-Technical, Human Factors Skills.

Trainetics faculty member Wai Yoong, our Obstetrics and Gynaecology Lead, has published an innovative, procedure-oriented book describing key index operations in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists training syllabus. The book is accompanied by more than six hours of high-quality video footage of real-life operations on a website platform.

Trainetics' faculty members Rob DeMartino, Mark Ponnusamy and Maud Nauta collaborated with Wai to contribute a chapter describing the rationale behind the growing need to introduce Human Factors into training schemes for healthcare professionals and how HF components can be applied and translated into obstetrics and gynaecology. The chapter addresses how, by focussing on specific personal qualities, attributes and skills that can be measured and trained, an individual's performance is optimised, leading to improved patient outcomes.

It is a must see/read book for speciality trainees, MRCOG candidates and junior consultants and we are always incredibly proud to see our faculty members leading the way in their fields.
