Trainetics talks Human Factors with Barking, Havering & Redbridge Trust Maternity Team.
The BHRUT Maternity team invited Dr Matteo De Martino to talk to their unit about Human Factors at their monthly education afternoon.
The bespoke afternoon covered the fundamentals of Human Factors such as Situational Awareness and decision making as applied to Obstetrics & Gynaecology. A facilitated discussion session followed, looking at areas identified by the unit as being of specific interest such as Communication Bias, Incivility, Fatigue and Authority Gradients & escalation.
Using these headline topics, the audience were guided through interactive discussions of relevant anecdotes and examples to unearth the theory and facts behind each area and fulfil Matteo’s objective of developing toolboxes delegates could take away and use to optimise their clinical performance and personal wellbeing day to day.
